LIGHTING ART INSTALLATION & CONSTRUCTION
Temporary Art Installation for The School of Constructed Environments, Nov 7, 2013
New York, NY USA
Artwork Budget: Donation from Philips Lighting
Created at Parsons the New School for Design with Abraham Chandler
This was a temporary installation created for the Luminous Talks reception, an event where key members of the lighting field come to speak on a topic. This year, the topic was Nature vs. Manmade. The bars are meant to imitate a spectrum of light as seen through a spectroscope. The series of luminaires are created using single 4000K T8 fluorescent lamps wrapped in amber gel and mdf plywood incorporated with the existing support beams. The amber was chosen as a contrast to the adjacent organic blue lit installation. This project was selected out of over a dozed presented by the student body.
